Roots

Program Overview

Roots is for our youngest players that want to experience the sport for the first time or continue to learn and develop. There are events for the Roots players in Fall, Winter and Spring. Each season is once a week for six weeks for 1.5 hours.

Seasonal Programs

FALL LEAGUE - Team practice and league play for K-8th graders

WINTER PROGRAM- Skills training that emphasizes 100's of touches on the ball, skill instruction and small games for 1st-5th graders

SPRING LEAGUE- Team practice and league play for K-8th graders

SUMMER PROGRAM - Focus on development of skills, small games to implement decision making and skill execution, fun games!

Fall & Spring League

EQUIPMENT/UNIFORMS

Each player will receive a Windy City colored game jersey and colored socks to keep. Each player is required to have a stick, shin guard and mouth guard. Mouth guards are mandatory or the child will not be able to participate. 

CONFIRMATION INFORMATION

All league confirmation and team rosters will be communicated by email. Changes to the rosters will not be allowed once registration closes. One reciprocal friend request will be accepted.

FRIEND REQUEST

Roots Fall League teams are formed based on a cross-town rivalry format. Players are rostered by school first, then town and then friend request. Friend requests are not guaranteed if they attend different schools or different towns. Keep this in consideration when requesting a friend. Friend requests MUST be mutual. 

REFUND POLICY
No refunds will be given. Registrations are nonrefundable after receipt or on-line registration. No exceptions. Windy City FH does not pro-rate or offer makeups for missed dates. Windy City will do its best to replace players prior to the start of the program if for some reason they are unable to make the commitment. We can't make any promises that we can fill spots once the online registration is completed. 

Exceptions for refunds will be made for registrants with a Doctor's note less an administrative fee.

Winter Roots

WCFH WINTER ROOTS: for any field player and goalkeeper interested in the one-season program. Players of all abilities are welcome, from beginners to those with more experience. Winter Roots program will focus on basics and advanced skills according to ability level. Small game play each session will give athletes the opportunity to compete and learn the tactics of the game.

Register by option according to your current grade, we will group athletes according to ability and school. Athletes can register for more than one session.
